Christmas Candy

I was very sick for several days leading up to Christmas, so I didn't get to make all the goodies I wanted to (sorry cake ball lovers!). I was able to make these a few days after Christmas though. Pretzel rods dipped in caramel and then chocolate, chocolate covered oreos (with a snowflake chocolate transfer), Ritz cracker peanut butter sandwiches dipped in chocolate, Ritz crackers dipped in mint chocolate (taste like a Thin Mint!), snowman hats (oreo with large marshmallow dipped in chocolate), chocolate covered caramels & chocolate covered pretzels.

Princess Birthday Weekend

I had cakes for 3, 4 & 5 year old girls all in the same weekend.

Happy Birthday Alina!

For a princess tea party.

Happy Birthday Holly!

For one of my favorite kiddos on her 4th birthday. And the inside:

Happy Birthday Kennedy!

Princess Tiana from the movie Princess and the Frog. The pan for this cake has given me a lot of trouble in the past, but I was determined to master it for this cake!

November Cake Orders

Happy Birthday Jenny!

Jenny and I have known each other since we were about 4 and our birthdays are exactly one week apart so I was excited to make the cake for her surprise 30th birthday party.

Baby Shower

I got a Cricut machine for my birthday and this was my first project. :)
Happy Birthday Zachary!

This cake was for one of my favorite kiddos first birthday.

Black Friday!

Those who know me know that Black Friday is my favorite day of the year, so why not make a cake for it? This was for my cousin to take to work so that all her employees would be on a sugar rush.

Happy Turkey Day!

I took this cake to my grandma's house for Thanksgiving. The body is cake and the rest are sugar cookies.

Good Luck Rich!
I took these to work for our boss' retirement lunch. The golf balls are made out of white chocolate.

October Cake Orders Part 2

Here's the rest of the cake orders for October:

Happy Birthday Diane!

I made this cake for my aunt's birthday using Duff's (from Ace of Cakes) cake tattoos.

Happy Birthday Nancy!
For the diehard Mizzo fan. M-I-Z!! The logo was made by tracing a reversed image in buttercream and then freezing it. Here's a close up of the logo:

October Cake Orders - Part 1

Yes, it is only October 2nd and I have already made all these cakes in October!
Baby Shower

Cake & cupcakes with fondant decorations for a butterfly themed baby shower

Happy Birthday Beatrice!
For a little girl's 4th birthday. She is obsessed with the color blue, so the castle and even the cake inside are blue!
Happy Birthday Madi!

For a little girl's 6th birthday. She requested something girlie and I loved watching her face light up when I delivered it. I bet she was even more excited when they cut into the cake.

Another Baby Shower

I was given the invitation as motivation for the design, but the converse shoes were a surprise. I have seen several pictures of other people making them and have been dying to try them myself. There's a few things I would do different next time, but overall I was really excited about them. Here's a close up of the shoes....

July, August & September Family Birthdays
My family has 16 birthdays in the months of July, August & September and when we celebrate everyone gets a cupcake and a candle (thank goodness they are no longer the singing candles!). I decided to have a little fun with these and arrange them like flowers.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

I think this is my favorite cake to date. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. I was surprised by the number of people who thought this was a real flower arrangement. Everything was made out of fondant.
Fall Birthday Cupcakes

Oh No!

I didn't have any cake orders for Labor Day weekend, so I thought I would make a cake for my dad and try out a few new techiques in the process. The cake turned out pretty cool, but as I took the cake out of the oven, the heating element in the bottom exploded. I was so bummed and then had to spend my Labor Day shopping for a new stove.

Here's the cake:

And the inside of the cake:

And my new baby :)
Not sure if I am more excited about the convection oven or the smooth top, but either way, the week without a stove was pure torture!

August Cake Orders

Tropical Wedding Shower

Cakes are covered in fondant with ribbon as the border and handmade hibiscus flowers. It was so humid outside that I had trouble with the flowers drying, but I think they turned out good for my first try.

Happy Birthday Annika!
My cousin asked her mom if Cake Boss could make her birthday cake, so I had big shoes to fill on this one. Luckily she approved! ;) The cupcake wrapper was made out of chocolate.

Baby Shower

I was given an invitation and asked to base the cake off of it. All decorations are made out of fondant.

Another Duck Cake

Here's another duck cake, this one with basket weave instead of kit kats. This was for a 60th birthday for a rubber duck collector. And again, the duck is just posing for the picture, the actual duck used had a party hat and was holding a birthday cake.

Another Baby Shower

Baby rattle made from wooden balls and a dowel rod, all covered in fondant. Cake is iced in buttercream, but deocorations are all fondant.

Cake pops decorated like a baby rattle as favors for the baby shower.

Happy Birthday Molly!

Beach themed birthday cake for a 6 year old. Sand is made from graham crackers and brown sugar, the seashells are chocolate, water is buttercream and the flip flops are fondant.

July Cake Orders

When I started taking cake classes back in February I never dreamed that I would get this many requests to make cakes for people. It's really been crazy. These are the cake orders I had for the month of July.

Tooth Cake Pops

Cake pops for a dental hygenist's graduation party

Baptism Cake

Strawberry cake covered in fondant. It was for a 5 year old, so I tried to make it sort of girly.

University of Arkansas

For a high school graduation party. No clue what the saying means other than it has something to do with the football team.

Duck Cake

This is my second duck cake and I have a feeling it won't be the last one! That is not the actual duck that was used, but one I had at home so, he is just posing for the pic. ;)

Pirate Cake

Pirate cake for a 4 year old's birthday party.
